Riverside Council PTA would like to congratulate Mitchell Babcock, on being awarded with the Carol Rude Scholarship. Mitchell is intelligent, motivated, hard-working, patient, and has a warm, easy-going personality. Mitchell inspires others to help in their community. He is a dedicated student who, in addition to his studies and extra curricular activities, makes time to give back to his community as a member of the Assisteens of Riverside. We are so excited to announce Mitchell as the recipient of the Carol Rude Scholarship. We can't wait to see what your bright future holds.

Congratulations Sarah Willis on being awarded Riverside Council PTA Volunteer of the year for the 2021-2022 school year. Sarah is the PTA president at Emerson Elementary. ​

Riverside Council PTA Power Award

Congratulations to Mary Beth Loyal on being awarded with Riverside Council PTA Power Award. Mary Beth gives unselfish and tireless hours not only for RCPTA during her years on the Board, including President of RCPTA during the start of the pandemic, but also for 23rd District PTA, RSA PTA, Lincoln PTA, and other units in need. Mary Beth's service to this community has, and continues to, make a substantial and lasting impact in the community through her volunteer service by patiently and compassionately helping and educating others, helping others to become better advocates and leaders, and helping to bring this community together.

Riverside Council PTA Honorary Service Award

Congratulations to Brenda White for being awarded with Riverside Council PTA Honorary Service Award. Brenda has been a PTA/PTSA board and parent member for over 20 years for Riverside. She was nominated for the HSA for outstanding self-less volunteer work for not just her kids and grandkids, but all students in RUSD. Thank you Brenda for your service to our community. Thank you Earhart PTSA for accepting this award on her behalf. 

Riverside Council PTA Principal of the Year

Congratulations to Principal Reller for being awarded Riverside Council PTA Principal of the Year. Mr Reller is the principal at Matthew Gage Middle School. He is the nucleus that makes Matthew Gage MS a wonderful place for student education, family engagement, and professional growth. He goes above and beyond to make the students, parents, teachers and staff feel part of one big family. Thank you Principal Reller!

Riverside Council PTA Elementary Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Flotron from Lake Mathews Elementary School for being awarded with Riverside Council PTA Elementary Teacher of the Year award. Mrs. Flotron has been an avid supporter of the PTA and children's welfare throughout her teaching career. She provides valuable input and support to the PTA, encourages parents every year to be involved in their child's school career by joining the PTA, and strives to really search out ways to keep her students engaged in learning. She has taken on several responsibilities above and beyond her regular teaching duties to benefit the students of Lake Mathews. Thank you for your dedication Mrs. Flotron! 

Riverside Council PTA Middle School Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Ms. Runyan from Sierra Middle School for being awarded with Riverside Council PTA Middle School Teacher of the Year award. Ms. Runyan makes every effort to include her students and is a person that spreads positivity, gives 100%, and is an advocate of a student-centered approach. She has the drive and determination to strive for personal and professional growth. Thank you Ms. Runyan for your dedication to your students and school!

Riverside Council PTA High School Teacher of the Year

Congratulations Mrs. Zuvia for being awarded as Riverside Council PTA High School Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Zuvia has dedicated her time and talents to the students at Ramona High School by encourage them to pursue excellence throughout the Health Careers Academy and their overall lives. Mrs. Zuvia comes in early and stays late most days of the academic school year, and always makes time for student and parent inquires whether she's coming in to open the classroom or in the parking lot headed home to her family. She is an amazing asset to RUSD and the community at large. Thank you Mrs. Zuvia for your dedication!

Nominating Committees

It is that time of year to start forming a Nominating Committee. The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to recognize and seek qualified nominees for the elected leadership of the PTA. Most units should be electing the Nominating Committee no later than January or February for the election of officers in March or early April.

RCPTA Unit of the Year 2020-2021

Congratulations Washington Elementary PTA for being Riverside Council PTA’s Unit of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year. Washington Elementary PTA will get to display this plaque at their school for the year. Thank you Kaylean May (previous Washington PTA President) for accepting this award on behalf of Washington Elementary PTA. Unit leaders: Remember to refer to the Honor Role document to ensure your unit is getting the most possible points. The unit with the most points at the end of the year has the chance to win Unit of the Year!
